It all started in Aomori. A region located in the far north of Japan, best known as the largest apple-producing area in the country. What a lot of people don’t know is — that it’s the birthplace of natural beauty essences and skincare innovation.
The A.P.G Hydration Theory
What do apples, salmon and licorice have in common?
They all possess a key element for skin hydration. Dullness, fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots, sagging – almost every skin problem roots back to hydration. This triple-ingredient formula takes a two-layer hydration approach. The first layer preps the skin for deep hydration and the second layer forms a veil to lock in moisture. It’s time to take skin hydration to a whole new level.
APPLE-DERIVED CERAMIDE
A unique ceramide derived from apples grown on our farm in Aomori. This skin-saver acts as a protective barrier that prevents your skin from losing moisture.
Apple-derived ceramides were discovered after years of research at the Hokkaido Agriculture Research Center. Once we learned that our apple farm was full of ceramides that help retain skin moisture, we worked with Aomori’s Hirosaki University to research and analyze which apples contained the highest levels of ceramides that worked best for human skin.
PROTEOGLYCAN
A breakthrough ingredient extracted from the nasal cartilage of salmon, Proteoglycan has 1.3 times more water retention power than hyaluronic acid. It also supports the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid, the two essential elements for skin hydration.
Due to its remarkable benefits, and the fact that there was no safe and efficient extraction method, Proteoglycan was valued at $300,000 per gram at the time of its discovery. That’s worth more than a diamond. 40 years later, Aomori’s Hirosaki University came up with a breakthrough extraction method — a big leap in the beauty world.
GLYCYRRHIZINATE
Extracted from Aomori’s Tsugaru Licorice Roots, Glycyrrhizinate helps brighten skin and acts as a skin softener, allowing all the nutrients to permeate deep into your skin.
Tsugaru Licorice survives through 2 years of dry summers and freezing cold winters in Aomori which allows rich nutrients to accumulate in its roots. Licorice was historically used for medicinal purposes in Japan due to its many health benefits. Most of it was imported as it was difficult to grow in humid Japan. When import restrictions led to soaring prices, we were on a mission to cultivate quality licorice here in Aomori. What made it possible was Aomori’s low humidity and Hirosaki University's research efforts.

MOIST A.P.G. LOTION (ESSENCE)
With a water-like texture, this lotion (essence) is packed with essential ingredients for skin hydration and softens your skin to allow all the nutrients to permeate into your skin.
How to apply
Take a generous amount onto a cotton pad and apply from the bottom-up. Why not top-bottom? Your pores are shaped like fish scale, which means the pore opening is facing down. That’s why you need to apply from the bottom-up to get those nutrients directly in your pores.
Pro tip
When you’re feeling especially dry, drench several cotton pads with the lotion and leave them onto your skin for 5 min. There you have a DIY face mask.

MOIST A.P.G. EMULSION
This emulsion is the key in achieving a healthy balance of water and oil in your skin. The milky texture creates a veil of moisture and nourishes your skin with essential oils.
How to apply
Dab 5 small dots onto your cheeks, nose, chin and forehead. Take another small amount into your hands and warm it up. Gently massage the emulsion throughout your face and neck.
Pro tip
Make upward motions from the center of your face, out to the temples. Almost like you’re giving yourself a facelift.

A fast absorbing cream that reinforces the properties of the lotion (essence) and the emulsion. It locks in all the hydration and nutrients for long-lasting plump skin.
How to apply

Our main ingredients are sourced from nature that would have otherwise gone to waste. As the largest apple-producing prefecture in Japan, Aomori’s apples were leaving about 14,000 tons per year of unused waste as a result of the juicing process. The nasal cartilage of a salmon was also something that was usually thrown out. We wanted to transform this waste into a product that brought value to you and our environment — the very reason why we launched our brand.
